| just brought the kittens for another check up today and the vet said the boy. Stoli (after the vodka, since our cats are russian blues) had an irregular heartbeat and recommended some sort of cat heart ultrasound now i don't mean to sound uncaring, but a heart exam for a 6 month old kitten? it's a bit much, esp since i read that a lot of kittens are born with heart murmurs and most of them outgrow them anyway. and it may be the vet just being overly cautious. last time, they asked that we bring in a poop sample for testing when he had a bit of diarrhea and the tests came back normal. mind you, i never would have thought that i would be walking around the tokyo metropolis with a bag of cat crap stashed in my purse. but i digress. so we're passing on the cardioexam for now, but will be looking at that during future visits.

aside from that, i've been slowly building up our kitchen, buying all the house stuff that most couples get when they get married. since we live so far away, it didnt make sense to do a traditional crate and barrel registry and have everything shipped over. instead, we did a honeymoon registry, which was so much more fun and personal -- we got to share our excitement and plans for the honeymoon with all of our friends and family, isntead of getting cross-eyed choosing china patterns. fyi - we're going for an asian zen look: no patterns, dishes in solid whites and blacks so there's more flexibility for accents, depending on the occasion
| week #2 of being unemployed and loving it. my days consist mostly of playing with our kittens, working out, studying japanese and cooking for my hubby. i'm also volunteering for a couple of groups (helping with a benefit, teaching dance class), so it's been great. so far so good. enjoying the time off as much as possible before having to go back to the real world once i figure out what it is i want to do...
on a side note, i played texas hold 'em for the first time and koji cleaned me out (all my 100 one yen coins) in 30 mins. i wasn't paying too much attention so i showed my cards earlier than i had to and folded when i could have checked. it was fun tho, and pretty soon i'll be raking in the pennies! mwahahahaha....
| koji took me for drinks at the newly-opened Ritz this weekend. can we say romantic the drinks were all amazing, but this was one drink that we decided we could do without:
the "diamonds are forever martini", ca-CHING-ing in at around $15,000 US. (Yes, there are three zeros after the number 15)

| three weddings, one honeymoon, two cats, an international move and countless adventures later...
Happy three-year-date-aversary bebe!!!!
We're celebrating with that one thing we both love second only to each other: FOOD. I'm making a Thai-themed dinner tonight, and he's taking me out to sushi on Saturday. yum yum yum...
| it seems weird to start a countdown at day 35, but there it is. 35 days until i leave, leave, leave on a jet plane. although unlike the song, i know exactly when i'll have to be back again. bummer.
after a year and a half of wedding(s) planning, i will be glad to leave it all behind. and finally accomplish something beyond tying ribbons, assembling invitations and picking cake flavors. never thought i'd say this, but i am really tired of being a bride-to-be! thank goodness for girlfriends who have kept me sane from halfway around the world
